Free day in the big city....
After a late meeting with the Nunoa club last night, we all had a more relaxing day in the big city. For myself, I slept until 10am and then had a long walk. Jacqueline and Maggie and I then went on to the Museo PreColumbiano. It was a fascinating display of artifacts from all through south and central America including some wooden Mapuche figures and many ceramics and stone vases. There was special display of head coverings in the temporary exhibit as well. One of the neatest things for me as a learning knitter was the electronic animations next to some of the head coverings that showed how the fibers were woven together. Tonight we are heading out with our families and Vladimir to see some folkloric music and dancing and to do some dancing ourselves. Tomorrow we are off to Rancagua!
The image is from yesterday. We weren´t allowed to take photos inside Neruda´s house, but we were allowed to take photos from the outside and this was one of many interesting bottles in his collection.
